This article is an attempt to analyze the websites of a number of international airlines by\nadopting the functionalism approach. For this, designing and marketing features of these\nwebsites are compared. According to the functionalist approach, every website should have at\nleast one specific function. This analysis is conducted by employing 12-factor website\nanalysis criteria put forward by Bowman, Johnson, and Hodges (2001). The findings suggest\nthat the success of each website is considerably translated into the success of the respective\nairline and vice versa. This is because the number of visitors of the website is positively\ncorrelated to the rate of customers of the airline....
In recent years, Chinese population is tilted towards older people, and it is\nvery limited for the state to invest in the elderly care facilities. Encouraged by\nthe national policy, many insurance companies have embarked on constructing\nand operating the retirement community. However, the profit model of\nthese insurance companies is not clear yet, and the return on investment is\nlow, in which China Life is quite typical. Therefore, taking China Life as the\nresearch object and Osterwalderâ??s nine-element theory as a tool, the paper\nanalyzes the existing business model of China Life developing the old-age\ncare communities, and uses the business model canvas to reconstruct a new\nbusiness model. Finally, the paper presents three management suggestionsâ??\nthat isâ??joint ventures with professional management institutions,\ninnovative insurance products linked to pension communities, and the securitization\nof old-age assets.
